Academic Advising Committee.

About the committee:
The Commission seeks to provide a high-quality extension service to students to help them learn about college systems and academic programmes and to overcome their problems through individual and group counselling with the aim of contributing to achieving the college’s goals.

Committee objectives:

1- Providing academic information to students and familiarising them with the study systems and regulations.

2- Encouraging and supporting the outstanding and talented students and helping those who are struggling to advance and improve their academic level.

3-Developing the student’s own abilities to solve their problems and correct their academic career.

4- Encouraging students to play a positive role in the educational process and participate in extracurricular activities.
Committee Tasks:

1- Preparing the committee’s annual operational plan according to the models specified for that with ongoing follow-up and monitoring of the implementation of the projects of the plan.

2- Develop a program-specific academic guidance strategy and monitor its implementation.

3- Allocate new students to faculty members, at the start of the semester, while old students remain with their mentors.

4- Supervising preparation and guidance programs for new students to introduce them to the study and examination system.

5- Identifying outstanding and struggling students and providing them with support and guidance.

6- Follow up on reports received from academic advisors, and submit a detailed report to the department council or the college council for approval.

7- Work to promote and enhance the culture of academic advising among program employees.

8- Identify and provide academic guidance programmes and services that contribute to strengthening the study of programme students and address their social problems.

9- Preparing follow-up reports and the annual report on the implementation of the operational plan, including the improvement plan for the following year.
10- Carrying out all the relevant tasks assigned to the committee, studying everything that is referred, and making appropriate proposals thereon.
